Insulin Therapy of Diabetes: Pathophysiology and Indications CME

Insulin Therapy of Diabetes: Pathophysiology and Indications CME

this is an excellent overview of diabetes, type 1 and type 2 in general, and it gives the rational for starting insulin sooner rather than later (at diagnosis, most type 2 diabetics only have 50% remaining beta cell capacity)

then it goes on to indicate the advantages of inhaled insulin, in type 1's and type 2's, which is unfortunate as exubera has been pulled from the market yesterday by Pfizer

you need to sign up for medscape (they do not spam you, it's safe), and i registered as a medical student, given that i have diabetes and have to learn everything possible about my medical condition :-)

there is a 2nd link to another article at the end of this first article, that is a natural progression of the information

very interesting articles........... some of you might want to print out the article so you can discuss it's points with your Dr :-)
